Formerly known as Westlake Bible
Church, the new Austin Ridge Church is one of the
largest and fastest-growing congregations in the central
Texas area. Rapid growth has also caused the need
for more and more facilities over the last few years
and a large and dynamic building program is well underway
on the church campus.
Alpaca Energy Solutions has been an integral
part of design and construction supervision for this
congregation's MEP needs and continues with ongoing
work on various buildings in the expanding complex.
Some of the facilites under development
in the master plan for this church center are: a new
3,500 seat main Worship Auditorium to replace the
current sanctuary built ten years ago, the new high-school
and junior high activity centers, new administration/offices
center with cafe, a rebuild
of the existing classroom center, and expansion of
park-
ing and various site improvements for the 2,700+ member
congregation. |

Client:
Overland Partners Architects - San Antonio
Located
in the Barton Creek area, west of Austin, this 1,500-seat
auditorium building is the second phase of a multi-building
development for this congregation. Alpaca provided full
MEP and fire-protection engineering design services
on this facility.
The building utilizes chilled and hot water
for the HVAC systems, with special consideration for
sound attenuation due to the high level audio/visual
use in the auditorium. The electrical system is designed
to support the standard lighting and power systems,
along with the special lighting requirements. The construction
costs were $3.5 million
for the facility. |

Client:
Tackett-Lodholz Architects, Inc. - Houston
Alpaca
Energy performed all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and
fire-protection design engineering for this $6.5
million facility including the sanctuary building
and all site development. The design aspect required a high
level of attention to sound attenuation, special interior
and exterior lighting effects, and high-volume air conditioning
for the large auditorium setting with expansive glass.

of an existing facility provided for a new auditorium and
sanctuary, additional classrooms, and new office areas - with
special attention to cost-effective design and construction
for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection
systems.

Strawbridge Sanctuary at the
United Methodist Church
Kingwood, Texas
Client:
Tackett-Lodholz Architects, Inc. - Houston
This new
sanctuary building, with seating for 600 people, included
a new 4,000 amp electrical service to serve the existing church
complex, as well as the new sanctuary.Due to high humidity
conditions for this location, an energy recovery system was
used on the outside air makeup. |

This rennovation
project involved the expansion of an existing church facility.
Alpaca Energy Solutions provided MEP services for the new
auditorium addition and the remodel of the existing auditorium
into a fellowship hall with kitchen facilities. Adjacent classrooms
were also remodeled.
